Dr Valeriia Orlenko is a Ukrainian endocrinologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Senior Research Fellow, and Head of the Scientific and Consultative Department of Ambulatory and Preventive Care in Endocrine Pathology at the V.P. Komissarenko Institute of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (Kyiv).

She graduated from the medical faculty in 1993 and has over 30 years of clinical and scientific experience, combining patient care with active research in endocrinology, diabetology, and metabolic disorders. Over the years, she has advanced from a young specialist to a leading expert and researcher implementing modern standards in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of endocrine diseases.

Dr Orlenko’s main scientific focus lies in studying the pathogenesis of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia, and the interrelation between metabolic and cardiovascular risk factors. She actively participates in national and international studies aimed at improving the quality of life of patients with chronic endocrine disorders.

  • Diagnosis, prevention, and management of endocrine diseases in outpatient settings

  • Comprehensive care for patients with diabetes, obesity, and metabolic syndrome

  • Research on lipid metabolism and its contribution to cardiometabolic risk
