The Institute of Lipidology, Obesity and Cardiometabolic Diseases is a leader of knowledge in the field of prevention and treatment of diseases related to disorders of lipid metabolism, obesity and cardiometabolic disorders in Ukraine.

Our activity is devoted to the problems of studying the mechanisms of lipid metabolism disorders, such as hypercholesterolemia, triglyceridemia, and their connection with heart and vascular diseases. We are investigating the relationship between blood lipid levels and the risk of developing atherosclerosis, strokes, and heart attacks. We study genetic disorders, such as familial hypercholesterolemia, and develop methods of their treatment.

We study the relationship between obesity and cardiometabolic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome.

We create obesity prevention programs for various population groups, including children, adolescents and adults.

We conduct research into complex relationships between metabolic disorders (insulin resistance, diabetes, hypertension) and diseases of the cardiovascular system and develop programs for the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic diseases, such as coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, heart failure.

We are developing the implementation of screening programs for the early detection of people with a high risk of developing atherosclerosis, dyslipidemia, and metabolic disorders.

We maintain registers of patients with genetically determined metabolic disorders for further research and clinical monitoring.

We are investigating the effectiveness of new drugs for the treatment of dyslipidemia, obesity, and cardiometabolic disorders.

We are developing new strategies for therapeutic interventions to correct the lipid profile and reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.

We study the effects of diet, physical activity, and lifestyle on lipid levels, obesity, and cardiometabolic risks.

We develop recommendations for leading a healthy lifestyle aimed at reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders.

We train specialists in the field of cardiometabolic diseases, improve the qualifications of medical personnel.

We conduct information campaigns to raise public awareness of the risks of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

The Institute can also participate in international research and cooperation with other institutions to develop effective strategies for the prevention and treatment of these diseases. Everyone interested – from a nurse and a student to an academician can join the Association. The activity of our community is based on the cooperation of cardiologists and endocrinologists – scientists and clinicians, as well as specialists of other specialties related to cardiometabolic practice.

The mission of the LOCZ is to promote research and increase interest in the field of lipidology and improve clinical care for people with obesity and cardiometabolic diseases.

The Institute of Lipidology, Obesity and Cardiometabolic Diseases is a non-profit medical society. We are an independent public non-governmental organization whose members and leaders are medical professionals. We dedicate our time and do our best to spread knowledge in the medical community, continuing our daily scientific, research and clinical work.

The Institute of Lipidology is a source of high-quality science based on evidence and many years of experience, the analysis of which gives impetus to the development of endocrinology. A non-profit scientific society for professionals who treat patients with cardiometabolic diseases.

We invite all medical workers (including students), scientists to join the Institute. Membership in the Institute will contribute to obtaining new ideas, knowledge, communication with colleagues, and will provide an opportunity to share knowledge at our meetings. The educational activities of the Institute include congresses, conferences, symposia, master classes, schools, including online training in the format of webinars, as well as programs in cooperation with international societies, internships at the workplace.
